Exterior Stereo Speakers in Forest River 25 ft Ultra

I was wondering if anyone found this problem and maybe had a cure. In my 25 ft Ultra, it has internal and external speakers on the stereo. I can find no way to shut off the exterior ones when the radio (or CD) is playing. Now, its not that I mind, but the others in any park that I go to, sort of get edgy when we crank up the music early or late in the day.

Aside from trying to pull new wires and installing a switch, may anyone here have a fix. Since you cannot get a wiring diagram from the manufacturer, and the dealer has no clue (hummm, surprise, surprise). I need to come up with a fix. Any suggestions ? ... I am not sure if there is a wireway in the ceiling to accomplish this.

Hi,

find your owners manual for your stereo system. There's usually a switch or setting for the speakers. i.e. "A" "B" or "Both." The setting is probably for Both at the moment and changing to "A" should be for internal speakers only, "B" for external speakers only.

My system has an actual switch I can change positions but it is also possible it is done via a menu setting on your stereo system too.

Cheers,

Steve

What brand of stereo is in your trailer. Ours is a Concerstone brand it has a speaker switch labeled A - B - C the exterior speakers are on the C button.

It is a Jensen DV 2011.... I just looked at every aspect of the stereo closely and pulled out the manual...I cannot find anyway to silence the exterior speakers.

I just wrote to Forest River to see if they can send me a wiring diagram.... If I take apart the two speakers closet to the exterior wall, and see if they have wires running out to ??????? never land....I just do not want to take the unit apart if there is no way......Now, one of my thoughts if there is wires running out is to put a fade switch on the exterior wall (inside which could control the speakers, but I have to get to the wiring harness somehow.

My Forrest River Salem Le has a round knob seperate from the stereo for selecting inside vs outside speakers. A-B buttons on stereo controll the front to rear inside 4 speaker selection. A being the front, and B the rear, both buttons in, and all 4 inside speakers are on.

The inside/outside/both selection knob may not be next to the radio. Look inside cabnets close to radio for hidden controls. Good luck. If not already wired, you may want to add this type of controll switch available from Radio Shack

Thanks to all who responded...I was able to get a response from Forest River. The actual setting was in one of the digital settings. Guess age shows, I never would have thought to look there.
