For those of you who have 2005 F-Series Trucks and ANY type of RCA outputted radio device (XM...Sirius)...here's the answer for you to be able to hook up those devices to your truck's radio.

Precision Interface Electronics Inc has finally released their adapter to be able to use the AUX Button on the 6-Disc and single Disc Radios for ANY device that outputs through a RCA-type connector. I just got done installing the FRD04-AUX Adapter, and I bought it from Discount Car Stereo for $84.98- a small price to pay if you're hooked on XM!!

It is for the following vehicles:

F-150 2004-2005
F-250 2005
F-350 2005
F-550 2005
Focus 2005
Freestyle 2005
500 2005
Mustang 2005

My only problem was not knowing how and what part of the dash I needed to remove to get to the radio's head unit...after searching here, I found this GREAT How To Remove 2005 F250/350 Dash. Priceless!! It does require hookup to ground and a +12v constant line, so I used the hot lead on the lighter. It also includes a gain switch so you can tune the volume to be the same as other sources. I just can't believe it took this long for someone to figure out this was needed! I'd say something like "Ford shudda done this, etc...but Griz would have a field day and prolly put some pics up of his 100-DVD player/30" GPS display/back-seat BigScreen TV and make us all drool!

Hope this helps alot of people...it sure did ME!!!

OK Boss,

What's the story? Does the XM push it's sound thru the Aux button, no need for a cassette adapter?

Si Senoir...hardwired into the headunit...Man!! Been waiting for some time for you to get a glimpse of this one- it's pretty clear that the audience for THIS mod is pretty tight!

Oh...and I put the XM unit in the storage box to the right of the driver...well hid, and easy to get to. Piece 'o cake...and you can input anything that has RCA outputs on it.

Gawd I'm glad you're back!!!

We're considering using one of the PIE adapters to hook up an IPOD to Wendy's car. Her car is already satellite ready, so we just need to hook a receiver to it. One of these days I hope to get around to adding satellite to my truck, which is also plug-n-play.
