First Weekend out with my new Puma
Greetings all,
I have had some pretty nice motorhomes in the past (Country Coach was my last one) but I was completely satisfied this last weekend with my Palomino Puma. I did have an excellent orientation/walk through, that the dealer did not charge me for by the way, but I have a lot of experience. I have been boondocking for work and dog shows by myself for 25 years. My expectations were LOW, after reading here about everyone's problems with things not working initially. This Puma is a 2014, but new. Amazingly, everything worked, at least after calling and getting good advice from my dealer (could NOT get the door lock unlocked--had to use a pliers to turn the cheap plastic knob inside, and then had to work it over and over by hand until the key finally worked outside) once they realized and accepted I actually was trying to use the correct key. Have already broken the little plastic thingy that was supposed to hold the door up to the storage compartment. I assume I can replace it with a metal one that won't be so flimsy. What is kind of funny, is that I had trouble with all the locks on the storage compartments on my Country Coach that cost 10 times as much. Has anyone just gone to a locksmith and had everything replaced? Am working on getting the ramp made into a patio, and possibly a door across the back. Is there a kit for the door (for security and to keep the dogs in if the ramp is down) or do I need to have a dealer install one? In any case, I had a lot of fun, the dogs had a lot of fun, and I am thinking of how to arrange a sofa bed or something in there to replace the uncomfortable chairs. All input is welcome and appreciated. Thanks. Marcy
