Hi Everyone:

I caught this earlier and wanted to make sure everyone knew about this- I delivered a copy to my local RV shop, which was spurred by their question to me when I had my Reese 20k hitch installd by them- "do you want the brackets bolted or welded"?

Here's the official Bulletin...AfterMarket Plasma Cutting/Welding Operations on F250-550 Trucks.

BTW...I had mine bolted- since I had already gone through one truck replacement, I figured it would be prudent to bolt it if I did it again!

Sean

Good data Sean,... as we know someimes the 'tech guys' at RV places or truck repair places don't get to read all of these Bulletins.

It looks like they are not dissallowing the practice of welding to the frame though, just offering guidelines of how to do it.?

(and its interesting how the guys signed off on the first page too,.. a little techie humor perhaps ???)

I had my hitch welded on my '01 truck. Worked out great. I had more confidence with that then drilling and bolting. I'll probably reassess that next time around. Almost everyone else seems to bolt.

Good morning there Mikey! I just tried to 2-way you...obviously you and your phone are not in close proximity! (Hopefully it's not sitting next to Cordie and the bed while I'm blurtin' out "Hey buddy...you gotta copy?"!

As far as bolting them, I just check the bolts a few times a year to make sure they're tight- just like the other ones!
