Goose neck box on tow hauler? 388 Momentum!

Has anyone used the Reese 94623 Goose neck box on their 5th wheel? My flat bed only has a goose neck ball that is recessed in a 16" box which can't fit a companion hitch. My other choice is to cut out the ball and install a B&W 1500R to accept the RVK3050 Companion hitch? Any advice would be nice. I just ordered a 388 Momentum today!

Because of the added leverage the adaptor puts on the pin box and frame many manufacturers of 5ers will void the frame warranty if the extender is used.
Best check with them first.

The Reese 94622 16 k and the 94623 20 k are approved by Lippert. I have talked to Lippert and have researched it. They are a very good design. I wish someone could give me some feed back on them?

My first post, but have put around 6k miles on one with our wolf pack. Its great,no wind input,no semi input , no chucking.A little more work to hitch up and because its a ball connection its not leagal to pull doubles with it.

Trbomax you bring up a good point about the double towing. I have decided to get the B&W RVK3050. I will cut and weld the B&W 1500R with is socket like a turnover ball into my goose neck box. I will cut out the existing ball that is welded into the box and use 3 1/2" X 1/4" angle iron. I may try to post pictures.

Lippert may say yes, but I would have it in writing from both Grand Design and Lippert stating that for the warranty period any frame failures will be taken care of.

I have had a Reese GooseBox on my 320SRX(35') for 3 years now towing with a Dodge dually. I love the way the trailer pulls. No chucking and not a lot of bounce. It has twin shocks and an air bag in the pin box. It is great to not have anything in the bed when not towing. I talked with Lippert before buying the pin box and they said they have done extensive testing which is on their website and back it 100%
