Welcome and I have a 2007 Salem LE 27' model. I got mine at a steal when I wasn't looking for a camper at all. I really like mine and have no real complaints about it. Plastic do-hicki that holds door open dry rotted and tip broke off, now door won't stay open - $4.00 fix? Had to replace a rivet in door step with a bolt - 6 year old trailer and heavy people using step - $.50 fix? Oh, and the mini blinds needed to be restrung/tied at the top - time only fix.
I don't know about the "Wet Bath shower toilet combo". My trailer has a tub/shower with seperate toilet setup. Does form meet function for you and your family?
I have a front queen bed and a rear overhead dropdown queen bed along with the sofa that converts to twin size and a dinette fold down to twin. Room under drop down for an air mattress if extra guests stay too. With dinette and sofa both down, gets kinda cramped. I leave the dinette folded up. Previous owner left the table out in the rain and the pressboard top swelled - he tossed it. I use a Lifetime plastic folding table out under canopy instead. That and CG picnic tables. Thinking of removing the dinette alltogether in mine.
Plenty of room in my 27' trailers GARAGE area, for EITHER my motorcycle OR my EZ GO Shuttlle 956 golf cart, not both. Cart is rather tall and fits under the raised bed. My trailer has 6 tiedown locations - How many does the 21'? Garage area may be the same, probably just no front bed in your 21'
What year trailer? Looks like something you WILL use? Or let sit after a few outings? What plans do you envision? Motor bikes for the boys? 4 wheelers? Will they fit? If no toys, then the garage can carry other stuff to make camping more enjoyable - Pop up shade, big grill, generator for getting away from it all, - endless possibilities.
Take the $350 off and you are paying $7150 for the trailer, doesn't sound bad. Never hurts to offer lower IF you are going to buy it anyway. Cash always speaks loudest.
More important now is SAFTY for those kids - 21' model should be towable with 150/1500 series truck. What is the MAX GROSS of the trailer? Will your current vehicle tow that safely? If not, how close to it are you? I have 2 friends that tow Toyhaulers similar in size to yours with a Tundra and a Dodge 1500 but I do not know what their real numbers are.
My 27' was 150/1500 towable, when it was nearly empty. I towed it home empty, then loaded it, it was overweight, but I only towed it here in the flatland of Florida WITH trailer brakes and brake controller, but have since moved up to a 2500 Dodge w/diesel. To give you an idea of weights, My 27' is - SHIP weight of 6,800 lbs. (COMPLETELY EMPTY but with all factory options) then, 8150 lbs loaded with just camping stuff - ADD TOYS, it is 9,000 lbs (W/bike) to 9,400 lbs (W/ cart). MGW for the 27' is 11,200 lbs. - I have room to add now. Truck is good to 13,000 lbs!
Just an FYI - Tongue weight will be HEAVIER without toys in garage - behind the axles. They can be heavy on 150/1500 trucks. At least you will be getting a WDH and with sway controll. Read up on proper set up.
