i also like this mod a lot.
The storage has really improved on trailers these days, but still, efficient use of space helps. That way i don't have to keep my tools right next to the bread and cereal like years ago. Everything has its own spot.
I have to go flop around on my bed in the LE a time or two and see how close my noggin comes to the ceiling. I'm 6'3" and historically guys like me don't do too much that will reduce the ceiling height. But then again, part of why i got the new LE is because I CAN stand up in the door area part of the bedroom. Now that is a lot of room for a front bedroom 5'r and a tall guy! But this mod does gain valuable space that i might not be using.

A thread we had here years ago asked what kind of stuff people in their toyhaulers were bringing along. I imagine that with improved storage (and with Howie's improvementS), that there would be a significant change in Toyhauler's patterns from when that question was first asked to these days.
Before it was Tools, some more Tools, 5 t-shirts, and milk and meat. Now we're packin'. Packin' wine cellars, linens (with a spare set as well ), a complete CD collection that a retired D.J. would be proud of (and his full complete sound system), 25 cases of beer on the wall, full wardrobe with laundry chute , oh... and tools - air tools with full compressor of course.
Can't fault good storage ehh???

Boy...can't even see where height is an issue with the new Wide (and TALL) bodies...it's a good thing we abscounded with our other awning hook, because now I can keep it in the TH to use to operate the vents! And storage space? There's more in my SLC than in my home, INCLUDING the attic!

I'm being very careful with what we put in it...it appears we were using the old WW as a storage bin, because there's a whole bunch of crap that I had to take outta it. Gotta keep valuable room available for the Jeep, tunes, and beer...

Howie- what was the original height of the storage area under the bed? For some reason (I guess because of the rack/pinion setup for the b-room slide) we've only got about 4-5 inches under the bed now. We'll miss it, but gosh- do we need to worry about pin weight.

that is right. I have a hard time opening up the vents too. I am tall and have NEVER had a hard time opening up anything in a RV. The first few times i felt like i had been pulled into an "Alice in Wonderland" book and i was getting shorter. If i had looked around and seen a smiling cat or something, i would have run out the door screaming.
Maybe i should check on EBAY for another awning hook? Maybe I'll just get some more tools instead and call it a day.
