Yup ... they work great for a bit'o charge when the gen is run'n... I got a former model shortly after getting the trailer. It's a little silver box without a light. BTW an ATS is great too! Always plugged in to AC when docked.

Hey Ty!!! How the heck are ya?!

Stupid question: what's an ATS?

Another stupid question for everyone: should I upgrade my DLS-30 to, say, a DLS-55 since I changed to four 6volt batts?

In my old SLC3705, I put a great transfer switchbox (I think made by SquareD) that I found at Lowes for about $80- best thing I ever did. Also gave me the ability to add some exterior circuits and make it a truly 50amp trailer. I think I'll get another one now to think of it.

Take care! How's things up in TV? I need to get up there one of these days to visit our branch.

Great question. King Salami has just gone to (4)
6 Volts and I'll be doing it shortly. Hopefully
the DLS-30 will be fine.

If you need to check, here are the tech contacts at IOTA

I have 4 large Interstate 6V's and the DLS-30 charges them fine.

I put the Iota smart controller on my rig...I actually had the controller a few weeks before I had my rig. As far as I can tell it works great...I use it for fast charging when I run the genny for a couple hours...and it does great...the 2 amp trickle charge wouldn't do squat to charge up the batteries....you give it a 20 or 25 amp charge for a couple hours and you make a significant difference....I think manufacturers should include these at the factory....there is no downside I see to putting one of these on your rig....

Jab, like in most things competition rules inovation. InteliPower is now including their Charge Wizard in the converters, so I'm sure IOTA will follow suite.

IOTA has had the Smart Charger built into the DLS-30 as an option since I can remember ... just doesn't seem to be the one WW chooses to use?

OK.... I got mine installed and it did the 6 blink
routine and then the green LED stayed on.

I can't find the instructions on this gizmo and
wondered why the LED suddenly started to blink continuously after I
disconnected the 110 power cord??

To stop the LED blinking, I reconnected the 110
power and disconnected and then
reconnected the "telephone" wire jack.

The gizmo LED then blinked 6 times..... and now remains a steady
green LED.

Any thoughts.......??

Howie:

I just got mine today, hooked it up, and got 18 blinks...one for each cell. And by Gawd...good thing I decided to check the water level in the batts, because they were bone-dry, and it took almost 2 gallons of distilled water (don't use anything but!!!) to get 'em back to the top. I did notice that the jumper that was taped to the unit when I got it was plugged into it after the trip to WW...those Bastuurds plugged it in and darn-near fried my batteries (plugging it in gives it the signal to charge the cr@p outta the cells...that was my clue I needed to check the 6v batts).

My guess is you maybe interrupted the hookup...if it's a steady green, you should be all set...
