Anyone use this on their converters? If so, how does it work? Can you or should you keep the coach plugged into shore power all the time with this? Thanks

Aaron

SJ:

I don't know about this product, but I have left my coach in it's bay connected to shore power for YEARS without any problem. Any type of decent converter will regulate the batt charge as needed. Have you got any specifics, like a website we can take a look at?

Sean

I installed one for the better charge rate while running the Gen. I used to use the jumper plug that looks like a phone jack but I was afraid of leaving it plugged in and frying the batteries.

Well NOW...I think you've stumbled across something there SJ...from what I can see, it turns the DLS30 into a 3-stage charger.

The part about...

Reduced Battery Stress
During the Float Stage, the DLS charge voltage is reduced. This minimizes gassing while maintaining a full charge at the nominal rate of the battery.

Weekly Equalization for Longer Battery Life

If the batteries have not received a "smart charge" during a seven-day period, the IQ Controller will switch the DLS charger into a pre-programmed equalization stage to top off the batteries, dissolving any sulfate layer on the battery's internal plates and avoiding stratification.

...has got my attention. Have you seen any pricing on this add-on? Their distributor websites are lacking...

Do a search on Google for the "IOTA IQ Controller".

It's between $25 -$35.

Here's one link

I got mine
HERE for $25 and yes, now I leave the WW plugged in all the time.
BE CAREFUL, some will sell you the old larger style without the LED like the one pictured in the first link posted.

Best part is the install, one screw and plug it in.

You folks are going to like that controller. It is essentially the same as the InteliPower Charge Wizard. I used it all last winter & spring and it worked great.
