You just gave us a con-firm on that Bushmill IV mixture- they got enough in there (or they sent you home with some more- you'll be fine in the morning!!).

Howie...he meant amps!

Oh yeah..... I'm gettin there. I just put my
glasses on and it looks like this meter can do it

I'll go out and check it now. Pretty soon it will
be dark and I can play "police car lights" for the
neighbors

Howie:

You're (or maybe Lady Di!) gonna hate me for this, but if you really want a light show, you'll need to check out... LED Bulbs. Save juice anf get more light! (That is...light in the wallet!).

Ok..... I just ran next door and asked my motor-head neighbor how to measure the resistance on a
flasher. His wife thought I was taking dirty

He used my meter and we get 0.11 ohms resistance
at 20K

So what does that tell us?

Nuttin' Honey!!

You need to measure AMPS! Not resistance! (Not bad on the resistance, though- keep that number in mind and after a few months of some moisture, measure it again and see just how much corrosion has built up on the bulbs).

My guess is your meter won't do it...but it was a shot-in-the-dark asking for that data anyway...DC amp meters can run into some bucks, and I think you said you bought one from Radio Shack, which if you didn't buy the most expensive, it won't.

Oh well...

You guy's are killing me I went and checked mine for ya howie, I'm pullin 3.25 amps with running lights on... 13 light's with one not working. You will also pull more amperage in a flashing mode than you will running steady. You can hook up 11 of your buford pole lights to equal the same draw to give you a comparison.

Ah!! BB has saved us from the dreaded "Howie vs. Meter" syndrome!!

Thanks there BB! And I agree...it takes more juice to get things started than just leaving them on. Based on that reading, he should be good for about 50 hours, ey? (If he doesn't run the blender at the same time ).

Sean, buddy you got me there. What was I thinkin? Another Irish probably. My meter is a $25 sperry and it reads 200dcma. But guys are too quick on the draw BB answered befor I got back. At 3.25 amps maybe 4 0r 5 on flash it will run a long time. So I think the answer is ..not to worry. I'm still laughing at my self Sean.

Just some good 'ol fashioned fun! Glad you can laugh at yourself- I do it all the time, and my mamma always told me it builds character!

Mystery solved! Again! (And with WAY too much fun!).

I am also very interested, ...
... but I may look in my newspaper to see if 'Rent-A-Howie' is available in SoCal,... that guy has some very intuitive thinking going on, along with our friend Don. And i like the idea of that 'clear housing' on the flasher allowing you tom see the mechanics !!

Boy O boy !
