Jayco 24z Overflow Fuel spill

Hello, I just purchased a 2012 Jayco 24Z with a generator. When I went to fill up the tank for the generator gas kept overflowing on to the sides. I tried to slow the pump but fuel continues to exit when pumping. Anyone else have this problem at the gas station when fueling the generator or fuel station pump?

Someone suggested to me that I shoul just fill with a gas can, but that would be a real hassle.

How much time is on the Gen? If it is new, my guess is the fill tube to the tank is kinked or has something in it. If it has been used, the vent tube could be blocked.

End result: the fuel line between top of fill neck and tank was defective. The rubber lining plugged the line. I would still only fill up 90 percent.
