Ok, here is how today went...
Loaded up this am, headed out.
Stopped at a CAT scale, topped off with fuel, put the truck on the scale.
With my 5er hitch, 50lbs in tools and full fuel....
My truck weights:

Steer axle: 4720
Drive axle: 3640
Total: 8360....

Man is this a heavy truck.
This was weighed with NO people in the truck.
Ok, that was way cool, now lets go get my trailer.

Cruised down to Beaudry RV in Tucson, pulled on the lot, some saleguy came right up and started talking about my truck. Said they just had a class that morning discussing weights, GVWR etc. I was very impressed, saying it is good dealers are learning about that so they don't tell people that pull up in a F250 that they can tow a 40' trailer with 2 slides. He agreed and showed me to my next person.
Hopped on the golf cart, headed back to my rig, I could see the front of it as we came around..... then..... saw it from the side... The golf cart didn't even stop and I said "Trailer was built wrong". She looked and said, how can you tell that, you haven't even looked at it yet. I said, I could tell by how high it was sitting.
The trailer was sitting there with the 2X4 spacer AND flipped axles!!!! This thing was sitting HIGH in the sky.

Let's go back, I originally ordered the trailer with flipped axles. After I placed my order, I got my new dually. Well, my new dually sits 1.5" lower than my old truck.
I started doing research and measuring. I didn't feel comfortable with the flipped axles and figuring I would be nose low. So I changed my order 3 weeks before the trailer was due off line.
I cancelled the flipped axles and ordered the 2X4 spacer with the triple step. The 2X4 spacer replaces the 2X2 spacer and is what comes standard with the 16" wheel upgrade.
Tacobuilder got the 16" wheel upgrade and sent me his measurements. I felt comfortable knowing his worked with his SRW truck which is 1.5" higher in the rear than mine.
So... back to this afternoon....

I went thru the ROOF!!!! I was so upset, I asked the lady to leave me be for a bit while I calmed down.
She left to start talking to people.
A manager came, my salesman came etc.
I proceeded to tell them I could not believe that my trailer had been sitting on their lot since 9/12 and no one bothered to check the rig out to make sure all of the options were correct. If they did check it out, they missed a BIG mistake.

I know that it was Warrior that messed up, they had to have gotten the change notice, or else the 2X4 spacer would not have been added to the trailer.

My issue was that the mistake was not seen and corrected. The flipped axles can easily be reversed back at the dealership.

Which is what is going to happen. The axles are going to be flipped back to normal and I requested that the dealership deliver the trailer to my house. I don't think I should have to drive down there again.

So, on to the better news.
The rest of the trailer is great, there are a few scratches in the gel coat, but the rest of the trailer looked great.
The inside looks awesome, everything worked as it should.
I put 3 hours on the genny, I wanted 10 and asked to have it run all day before I got there, but that was not done.
I fired up the hot water heater, worked well.
Tested every light in the rig, stereo etc. All worked well.
With everything else, I forgot to test the fuel station. I asked the guy working with me to check it, we shall see.....

I lowered the ramp to see, MAN, I would have to drive my buggy at about 30mph to make that much angle.
One thing I am disappointed, I ordered the drive on wheel wells and the outside speakers, well the outside speaker box on the inside of the trailer sits right in front of the wheel well. How am I supposed to use that???? I will have to make a little extension of the box to be able to get my tire up on it, then I can turn it and run it on up. Stupid design by Warrior.

Well, enough in this post....

Pretty disappointing day, but it should all be good in the end.

I'm am seriously starting to think they need to have duner or an RV'r there at the factory all day long monitoring all the rigs. Kind of like all major construction jobs here in SoCal where they have an archaeologist monitor site excavation. I am not sure why you would have to make yourself an extension so you can use something you just paid some bucks for.

But, putting the springs back underneath the axle will be an easy thing for them to do, call up WW and tell them they are ALSO now going to fab you a nice diamond plate extension for your drive-on wheel wells.

Other then those two pain in the rears, hows the trailer look??
It had to have been a beaut !!
We like pics of new rigs around here,
Congrats!
Mike

At least it sounds like a fixable deal Lincster. Always something isn't it.

Tom, you are right, it does appear to be a non-stop labor of love.
And it is admittedly annoying to not have the manufacturer read the workorder properly. Thats Labor and Management problems.

But these fixes that you need on your trailer are both simple.

So Linc, where are you going to the dunes at?
Is your Glamis season opening up right now?
Your new truck and trailer will be quite the rig!

Got mods planned?

Our normal place is Gordons Well.
We do Buttercup a couple of times a year and go to Glamis probably 3 times per year.
Yep, season is opening soon. I am planning on next weekend, we will be at Glamis Oct 14th and then at Gordons for Halloween.
I can't wait!!!!!

No mods planned yet, except to figure out how I am going to drive on my wheel wells that were designed oh so well.
I am going to cover up the heater duct work in the storage compartment, that is for sure.

Just found out that the fuel station is having the same issue that others have. Turn on the timer and it blows the fuse.

Linky Baby:

Ol Griz was showing me the speaker compartment issue at the WW 'booth' at the Sand Sport Show...I can't for the life of me figger out why they didn't do something different. First, the speakers are too low, second, the 5" of clearance that you lose is downright obnoxious. If you had a 31 or a 33, it might not be a big deal, but you've got a 39', so you're gonna want to get the rears forward of that, right?!

Boy...I hope everything goes well for ya...you at least lovin' the F350 TB? I am mine- like a kid in a candy store- $3.00 a gallon? I do it just for the pure pleasure...a backrub costs more than a couple dozen miles around town!

Go get it and enjoy it...

Sean

Hey Sean,
Actually, for my rear tires, the further forward the speaker boxes, the better.
My buddy had a wing on his buggy and he had to take the speaker box cover off to get his rear tires far enough forward on his SLC3905.
I will figure something out.
I am anxious to tow with the Tow Boss. I was bummed last weekend.
Take care,
Linc
