Good point there Donno!!

Actually, what would be even better if, for the delivery hose, you could have an extension hose, complete with quick disconnect fittings, that you could get the nozzle over to the tank you wanted to fill....hummmm...I may look into this. I can still see where I'd like the flexibility of being able to transfer fuel from one to the other, and with your mod, it's closer to reality!

Thnaks again!

Sean Bingo! Man, sometimes I get so wrapped around the axle I see right past the obvious. Extend the hose to reach the fill spout. Duh

The quick disconnect would be awesome! Anyone done something like it yet?

Don:

You know...we are a distributor for various fluid power lines, including hose & fittings...I betcha we've got a quick disconnect that could be used for fuel service...I'll check into that.

One word of caution...the extension MUST be between the existing hose and the nozzle- I wouldn't merely add a piece of hose the the end of the nozzle. I believe the nozzle might/should have the shutoff feature when fuel backs up into it (just like the gas station nozzles)...I'll see what I can find!!

OK...I've checked out my fuel station, and I believe the fitting going into the nozzle is 3/4"NPT. Sooooo...

I can get Aeroquip quick-disconnects that are steel and Buna-N sealed and are valved- meaning when you disconnect they shut off. I can also get the proper3/4" fuel-line hose. PM me if you're interested.

I looked at my tanks, and maybe a cheaper way to go is to plumb in a valve off the pump that would give you the ability to directly transfer to the 20gal tank for the genset. You know...both the LE and SLC's have fuel guages now that will let you know if you're getting too full.

Let's kick this around some more, OK?

Sean

I know what I want Sean! A longer hose that will reach the fuel tank fill and anything else 15 Ft from the coach!!! Let me see if I under stand this because this will also thwart gas theves. If we unscrew the nozzle from the current hose and add a quick disconnect, then 10ft of new hose with a disconnect and screw the nozzle back on the new hose end we now have a nozzle that will reach 15ft and can be stored else where so when a gas thief (which will happen the more gas goes up) tries to steal the gas he ends up staring at a hose he can't get nothing out of!!! I like it count me in.

I like the idea too.....I hate moving the quads around to fill the tanks and anything to keep a thief at bay is A-OK.

Hey Donno:

ON the way home yesterday, I was thinking about the valve after the pump idea, and the only thing we'd need to worry about is if the gas cap wasn't vented...imagine pumping fuel into the 20gal, and it wasn't vented- that would be a recipe for disaster. We need to find out if it is vented, then I think we'd be OK...

I still like the idea of a longer fuel hose, though, and there may be a way to make some room for it...I'm gonna think about that one for a bit.

I've looked under there and there is a vent line. Just don't know if the cap is vented when its screwed tight. I'm thinking the vent only vents when you are filling. The cap probably only vents to let air in not out. Things to ponder.

Hi All:

I've added this as a sticky so everyone can find it easily to fix their photo links. If you need any help, don't hestitate to ask!

Of course, I can't sticky all of your threads, but if we concentrate on this one and maybe build on it, we'll have something for the new members to chew on before getting specific with their questions.

I think the sat tv mod pics were mine, I'll have to look for them. Most of the others are 56's mods I believe.
