Opinions on Grand Design Momentum
Hello all,
Very close to pulling the trigger on 5th wheel Toy Hauler. The wife and I have been looking and renting campers for a year now and we think we finally have narrowed our selections down. Leaning towards the GD Momentum but also like the Dutchman Voltage. Any opinions on quality of the GD vs. the Dutch?
Looking forward to hearing some build quality thoughts and things like that.
Thank you,
HD.

I can tell you that I'm very fond of the grand design brand,,, even though I've never owned one. You might try asking over at the grand design owners forum. I quick google search will land you there.

We had the same debate between these two brands and decided on the Momentum.
Seem like very similar units. However, there are differences that I noticed on the 2016's.
I didn't like the cable system found on the Voltage slides (just a personal preference).
I also paid close attention to the roof/side wall connection. I liked Grand Design better at the time because their connection/seam was on the side and not at the 90 where the roof and side wall meet. This connection may be different on the new Voltage's.
I also liked the neatness of wiring/plumbing/duct work, etc. on the Grand Design Units. Grand Design doesn't put heat ducks in the floor that collect dirt/dust and I liked that as well.
Grand Design also has a 3 year structural warranty and great Customer Service. We recently had an issue with out Lippert 6 point auto-level system and both Grand Design and Lippert were fantastic helping with troubleshooting even though we are not longer under warranty. I had a question about an inline fuse and Grand Design called me back within an hour or so of my initial call. They are very responsive to their owners in my experience.
In the end, we are very happy with our Grand Design Momentum 350M. No major issues for us and great response when we've had questions or minor issues.
Hope this is helpful. Good luck with your decision.

We bought at end of April 2016. We spent approximately 40 nights and over 2400 miles on it last summer both locally (weekends) and traveling on east coast.
This year we've added another 3300 miles and 35 nights so far. We took it to Kansas from Cincinnati, then to Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan before coming back to Ohio.
Nearly 6,000 miles in two in just over a year and our Momentum has performed well.

Wow! That's good to know. Thanks for the info. We really like the 395M ToyHauler but man they're up there on price. Just hoping the build quality is there.

My wife and I purchased a 2015 GD momentum 42 foot, have had no issues, like it, but it is a long bugger to get into tight spots, good luck
