Hi Deb!! ... it is a very clean looking job that he did. And the basketball hoop in the backyard is still usable.

Ah Yes FabDeb...the 'ol "easier to get forgiveness than it is permission" routine...works every time! Really...you'e gonna really love it- kinda hard to convince you of that when you haven't had to store it for $100+ per month and go fetch it a dozen times, but if you think about it real hard, you can experience it in about 15 minutes!

Or...as my best friend has put it for over 15 years now (after he had his 25th anniversary and then put her on a year-to-year lease after that)..."she'll either get over it, OR....she won't"!!

Ya just gotta love it!!

Sean

Fab,

Robin wasn't sure about cutting the roof at first either, then she realized that it was much nicer to have the front of the house clear of the trailer and we didn't have to store it somewhere else. It seems like were always in it for some reason, tinkering or having a guest spend the night. On a side note, after I did the roof cut, 4 neighbors followed suit to get their rigs off the street.

FatDog - I like your thinking! . If you're making those kinds of appologies, that Cordie is a lucky lady. Let's just say I won't be expecting any flowers walking through my door tonight. However, he did bring home flowers the same night he had his Raptor in the back of his truck (did I mention that I had no idea the Raptor was in the bed of the truck...at least not until I saw the flowers; at that point I knew he was up to something!).

Rod - listen to FatDog (he knows his stuff).

Sean & Clark - You give very nice words of encouragement. (Well, I'm not so sure about the year-to-year lease advice/idea...).

Bottom line: Rod knows me all to well - I'll get over it. Note to Rod: the flowers wouldn't hurt your situation! .

Thank you boys...Rod came home with an amazingly (or should I say fabulous) beautiful bouquet of flowers (a rather large bouquet if I do say so myself) .

You know...now that I think about it, that huge white trailer doesn't look so bad squeezed along side my house. And I always thought that roof line needed a few inches shaved off on that one side. .

xoxoxo,
Deb

(FatDog-you've made the Melon home a happy one once again...let's hope the guy doesn't forget the power of a flower! Thanks FD)

Hey Melon,

I am new to this site. I was wondering what your gate opening size was? I have a similar situation but I do not have to shave my eaves. My opening at the fence measures 115 inches. I figure I have about 5 inches on either side. I will be threading the needle once I get my new LE3305. I can get more opening size with some modifications but I want to avoid those costs if I can.

Heres the official "out of the doghouse" photos.

Hey Sandjunkie, welcome aboard. Sorry you had to see all that, (I hate it when mom and dad fight) JK.

To answer your question, I have 117 inches of open gate. Your 115 inch opening is tight, and when your talking about such small tolerances a couple of inches either way make the difference. Just go slow and you'll make it. Don't forget your awning and fenders add at least 4 inches total (2-3 per side).

Rod
