Generator prep. can vary slightly from one manufacturer to another.
What fuel??

Generally the compartment will be segmented (sealed walls) for air and noise and fume separation.
There would typically be wiring & j-box provided from the compartment to the main electrical panel.
There should or could be a power transfer switch that allows switching the main panel to /from shore power to generator power.
Generally there is not an allowance for fuel source unless specified. 5r's typically use LPG. Your Cyclone may need a fuel line to the gas day-tank if provided.
Onan typically has a template available for each model that is used to map out the hole(s) required on the compartment floor for ventilation, service, and exhaust porting. Might also want / need correct exhaust pipe, remote start panel.
Not exactly just plug right in, but not exactly rocket science either.
Cummins/ Onan often will set them for parts and labor (shop rate).

Make sure the "cheap 88" still runs and makes electricity. They can get kind of pricey to rebuild, engine, and stator/brushes etc.

Happy motoring.

May be some minor differences, but nothing an electrician can't fix. As long as the gen set will fit the space, it should work. I'd make sure the support area is strong enough to hold it.

Yes indeed, sounds like you're covered. The 5.5kw and 6.5 kw are often interchanged. They're near the same weight. You might even luck out and have 240V. found only on the commercial 6.5 now.

Good luck.

Yeah it would be in the specs. for that model.
You might not ever need /want 240V. We've got a 240v clothes drier we can only utilized in a 50A CG (which is most of the time). We didn't want to $pring for the commercial 6.5kw. The 5.5kw runs both a/c's plus. Think a Laundromat would be cheaper than running the genny.
