So, I hooked up the new truck to the Alfa this morning and went for a trial cruise. Took the unit to the truck scales to see a real loaded weight.

Now I only have about 25-30 gals of H2O in the trailer, but otherwise it is fully packed for a one week trip, food, clothes, and everything else we need.

Now the weights:

Trailer loaded minus 75 gals water and truck loaded, full fuel tank, minus me, Robin and dogs: 22,940 lbs

Trailer minus tongue: 11,900 lbs

Trailer along: 15,240 lbs

Tongue: 3,340 lbs

Truck: 7,700 lbs

I'm glad I got the new tow boss rated at 26,000 lbs. Even if I fill the water tanks, I still won't get to the 16,200 lbs the trailer is rated at, and theres no way I can max out the truck.

I did some calculations and figured that with everything and everybody in the truck, hooked up we will be at approximately 24,000 lbs.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But the truck pulled it so smoothly around town, incredible...

Catch you all later,

Clark

Have fun Clark. Boy that is some weight. Need to find a scale around where I live and get and an empty weight before we load ours up this weekend.

You know Don:

I've hammered FatDog on doing this, but have yet to yank the SLC down to the scales...I've got to make a mental and written note to do that when I pick it back up from WW...

Clark's on the ball...nuttin worse than NOT knowing what you're pulling...good job there Clarkie Baby!! Don't you feel better now?

Clark,
Is your truck a 2WD? My 2006 Tow Boss 4X4 Crew Cab weighs 8000lbs with full fuel and no passengers.

lincster,

Yes it is a 2X4. I didn't need a 4x4 for the camping we do. That weight was the truck loaded with fuel, 5er hitch, no passengers or extra junk inside. I figured with the wife, myself, the 2 dogs and my tool box I'll add 475 lbs.
