Successful first hunt.

I won't tell you about the one that got away, ah, yes I will. I shaw a big buck opening weekend but I didn't get a shot at him. I won't give you all the details about why I didn't get a shot at him, lets just say I was in a compromised position when I saw him and I didn't have a large enough caliber gun in my hand to drop him.
But I did get a nice Tom turkey a little later Sunday morning.

56Nomad, I don't know what they taste like yet, this is my first turkey. I'll know this evening how it tastes, we are having part of it for dinner.

56Nomad, it was great. The wife marinaded half the breast and the two drumsticks overnight in a tomatoe sause and bell pepper marinade and baked it in the oven. The drum sticks were tough and stringy but the breast meat was awsume. The next one I get I am going to smoke it.
