Well, it's been over a week since I put the electronic
gun into the yard and it's really is such a small yard.

It appears that this electronic "thumper" actually increased
the gopher activity. Lots more holes................. It's like they're
curious to see what I'm doing and trying to compete with me.

So yesterday I dumped a half gallon of gas down the holes
again and lit it off.

It was so cool to hear the flames roar underground and
shoot up flames out of most of the gopher openings.

It's now become a ritual, the first thing I do in the morning
is check out whether I got them on the run or not. After the
major flaming yesterday, I really thought I won..... but no.
Two more holes

So again I took about a gallon of 91 octane and flamed the
yard again

Then.....I poured paint thinner down the holes

Sure is handy to have the fuel station close by

I gotta say it's a real hoot reading your gopher hunt exploits, but you may as well give up. They ain't leaving till the food runs out. And thats a good thing. The gophers are in your yard only because there is a good supply of yummy grubs to eat. Considering the grubs will destroy your plant roots maybe the gophers are a better choice. But keep up the daily gopher war post; they're a day brightener!

Hoverbug.... No new holes today

For the amount of noxious fluids I've poured
into the ground I'm sure that all the fauna and
bug type critters below are also on the run.

However, the grass seems really resilient and I
see no damage other than the gopher holes.

After making my sardine sandwich for lunch today,
I took the sardine oil and dumped it....... guess where?

Boy...that's sure expensive gopher killer stuff there these days. There's got to be some equally potent stuff that only costs like a $1 per gallon!

I second Dave's comment- this one's a hoot!!

I think we're about ready for some dynamite, really shake things up, not that you need shaking up, living in Ca and all that but, Sure would put an exclamation point on the little buggers, not to mention a lot of roll-overs in chair land after reading about the results.

Yeah, I can just see all the dirt, grass, and fur flying, not to mention the cracks in the sheetrock in the house afterwards. CA-BOOM!
