Boy...that's gonna be kinda tuff around these parts, ey?

OK...I've scoped out the quantities for my SLC, and we might as well compare notes- this is starting rear driver's side coming around to right driver's side (to make it easier):

1. Left Back Vent - 1 1/8"
2. Gas Tank - 5/8"
3. Gas Tank - 5/8"
4. Shore Power Compartment - 1 1/8" (gonna key it)
5. Water Door - 5/8"
6. Left Basement Door - 1 1/8"
7. Genset Door - 1 1/8"
8. Right Basement Door - 1 1/8"
9. Outside Shower Door - 5/8"
10. Fuel Station Door - 1 1/8"
11. Right Vent Door - 1 1/8"

Did I get 'em all? Also...on the website that BB gave, they give you options for all the different cam styles, but I'm gonna check to make sure I can just use the ones I have.

Anyone else?

Sean

Sean, with the lock unit removed the tumbler will come right out and can be replaced with the new one.

Bingo! Easier than I thought! They should still work with the round key units, huh?

Most any hardware store or lumber yard can order the locks keyed alike for you. You need to know the length of the cylinder. I changed mine out for about $5.50 each. You can get them in gold also if you want to dress up your rig.

jimtoo!

Welcome to the crazy part of iRV2!! Glad to have ya aboard!

I haven't priced these yet from the link in big_buford's post, but from the ones I've bought in the past, I think this wholesale shop will be around $3 ea. But if they're $6, it'll still be worth it.

Have fun here...glad to 'meet' you!

Sean

OK...what a heck of a way to celebrate my 1500th post...got my locks from BB's posted website (it's the one at the bottom of the first page)...those people are great! Spoke to Penny (a few times), robbed my coach of all the locks (coach is at home in it's bed thank gawd), sent them via UPS to make sure they got what EXACTLY I had in on Tuesday, they matched all of them with the ones I sent, and I'm up and LOCKED.

Now...those of you who haven't seen my sound system probably won't understand why I would spend $96 on new locks, but those of you who have, will. Not to mention all the other stuff that anybody would steal, but if they did, it's another trip somewhere to replace it all (Griz...what was your Wally World final tab?).

Ok...for those of you who have an '06 SLC, or probably a '06 LE, here's the numbers you need to order...

TCL11803-BC-01-CP-01-KA#???? (do you really think I'd give you my code?) For the 1 1/8" locks

TCL5803-BC-CP-01-KA#???? (nope...not gonna do it!) For the 5/8" locks

KA= "Keyed Alike"

I took 7 & 4, respectively. I need to apologize to Jimtoo because he was alot closer to the price, which was $8.45ea and &7.50, respectively. If you merely want to change from a CH751 lock, they're ALOT cheaper...around $2.50 per lock. But I chose the circular key locks because they're harder to pick. (Not that anyone who really wants what I've got couldn't bust out a door and take it, but for $96 I've moved the sliderule a tad farther north).

DISCLAIMER: I really hated posting this because with the people I've met in my RV'ing life of almost 12 years, I could survive a train wreck before I had to worry about any of those peeps. It's all the other idiots in the process of either traverseing my coach through un-suspected towns, or any campground I'm not familiar with (heck with that...unless I know everyone in one, I'll still be weary). Bottom line: as said before, "locks are for honest people", and I truly have found MANY RV'rs to be just that. Call it insurance....not a slam against ANY of you ( unless you're frothing at the mouth to rob me).

Yikes!! OK...the Pitbull mentality has left...we're back to a knowledgeable resource for everyone!

Sean

Thanks for the numbers Sean, I think those are the sizes I need also. I'll be doing this mod soon.

Hey Wes:

In the way that WW procures things, I think you can rely on these numbers...please tell Penny that I sent you- if someone else hasn't already clued her in that their site is public now!

Those locks are so cheap as well as everything else. If a theaf wants in... he's(or she) is in. I would rather they try and not destroy everything while they take my dirty underware.
I would miss that underware...
