Toyhauler used as a kid's bedroom?

My family is looking to live in a fifth wheel full time next year so we can travel with my husband for school. We want our two little kids to have a separate room and have been debating between a bunk house and a toyhauler that comes with beds. I know they design those toyhaulers with the potential for people to sleep in, but my kids are still very young and I worry about it being too cold. Does anyone have experience with this? Do some brands have better insulation than others? One of the reasons we want a toyhauler is we think it will be easier to sell down the road than a big fifth wheel with a bunk house. Would it actually make a difference?

We recently sold our 40' Keystone Fuzion to upgrade to a MH. Ours had bunks in the garage plus a loft. Being that we have 4 kids it worked VERY well so they each had their own bed. We traveled in all sorts of weather conditions and never had a problem with them being cold. The Fuzion has a glass patio door dividing the living area from the garage giving the feeling of much more living area. If we knew it was going to be cold we would use and electric heater in the garage as a back up. Maybe all toyhaulers have it but ours had washer and dryer hook up. We didn't use it but it was available if we wanted. One thing to note is the Fuzion we had did not have a heated underbelly which could be a problem if dealing with long term cold.

Kids are growing up and leaving home... time for us to move on. Lovin' the new MH

Thanks for your reply! Good to know. We've looked into Fuzion, but I think you're right about the heated underbelly. That definitely sounds like a feature we'd like. And we do want washer/dryer hookups, so that's something to look out for too. The ones we like best so far are the Voltage and KZ. Good luck and happy travels

A Navy officer I know is going overseas for a couple years and is selling his Excel Wild Cargo. He ordered it from the factory with the rear section set up as a bedroom for his daughter and it is a nice unit. His post to sell it is in the Excel owners forum here but the classified for it is: 2012 Excel Wild Cargo 41GKE - RV & Motorhome Classifieds
