Wheel bearing grease

Hi All. About ready to do the wheel, Brake, and Wheel bearing maintenance. Couple of questions, what grease are you using on the wheel bearings, and second, how tight are you adjusting your brakes. Normally, I used to adjust until tight and then back off about 4 detents. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Also, getting rid of the China Bombs and considering going to Hercules ST235/85R16 12pr. Oem is 235/75R16 10 pr. Thanks

Any quality bearing grease, synthetic or dino will work fine, I wouldn't let synthetic or high priced grease extend service intervals in any case.

On adjusting the brakes, I keep the wheel off the ground, tighten until wheel won't move, then back off until wheel spins without drag. I've never counted.

On the tire part of your ? Why? Unless you have 7K axles any decent quality LT tire would be a 1000% improvement over ANY ST tire on the market!

The only reason I can see "not" to go LT, is load carrying capacity.
At present, I'm right on the edge of max load for the oem size. That said, guess I've never read of anyone having the blowouts using the LT that seem all to common with the ST. According to all the infro. that I've read, I will loose about 200# load carrying per tire going with the LT. Also, by going through Big O on the Hercules, is a three year road hazard warrantee for $19 per tire. Also, Big O seems to be very common through out the US.

They are a part of a conglomerate. If you ask your dealer they will you the three that will service their warranty work. Tire Kingdom is one of them and I am not sure who the other is. Down here in the south that is.
