Bubba insisted it was in the fuel tank but after draining it and dorpping it there is nothing in the fuel tank except the float for the fuel gauge.
Where is the pump that feeds the Onan 4.0 gen?
Help, please, anyone!!!

In the generator enclosure. Follow the fuel line from the carb. it should go to what looks like a square metal box (Or round fuel filter looking thing if it is a new genny) with the fuel lines (In on one side and out on the other) and two wires. That is the fuel pump. Little bitty thing if you compare it to the ones on a car....

IF I can remember I will take a picture of one tomorrow and post it....

Thanks Don but someone on RV.net already sent me a picture of it. What a stupid, unaccessable place to put it IMHO.

Okey Dokey, glad you found it. Yes they do put them in the most God awful places. (Just like almost everything else) But they are just trying to jam as much as they can in as small a place as possible.

Catch Ya Later,

Don

Just goes to show ya, if you had mine it would be back by the tank just hanging underneath to the frame.

Are you SURE there is not a second one in the genny enclosure?????

On some there is a second pump near the tank due to the long fuel line run to the genny. This is due to the pump on the genny not being able to draw enough fuel due to the long fuel line....

Nope! nothing but a line and a filter, mines a pusher pump and it DOES take a long time to get fuel up to the gen. I also have one of those glass fuel bowls.

Not fixed yet. My WW is less than 2 years old so fuel pump replacement should be a warrenty fix. I have a turkey hunting trip planned for this weekend so I will just take my small protable gen this weekend and take my TH to Camping World Monday morning. CW in Denton is an Onan service center.
