Which would you buy?
Working 2 deals right now, but I'm reading up on both, going through forums and just asking around.
What are your thoughts on these toyhaulers. Thunderbolt XLR 380amp, Cyclone 4100, Cyclone 3800. I like all 3 floorplans. Biggest thing I'm concerned about is insulation. The XLR comes with the extreme weather package and the cyclones do not.
Appreciate your thoughts

I believe you just answered your own question. Even if the the "extreme" package costs a little more the extra comfort would most likely be worth it.

Not sure why you're asking the question. If you will be in harsh winter conditions, go with the best insulation package you can get in the floor plan you like.

Go with the XLR 100%. First, you want the insulation. Second, service after the sale. You can not find a company that takes care of you after the sale like XLR.

If those 2 are your only choices...I agree with taken...Forest River XLR over anything Heartless makes. The only thing about the XLR is where they put the W/D connections are terrible and I can't remember which model I saw, but no plug outlets on kitchen counter for your coffee maker or anything else. I like the 380 too, but Queen bed was a killer for us along with the other thing...but Heartland is putting out crap right now on all their 5er's including the Cyclone. You shouldn't have to spend $70-$80k on a TH and then have it in the shop the first 3 months you own it like many I have talked to the last year.

Mine has both a GFCI in the backsplash and a popup outlet like this in the counter.

I would also look at the new Jayco Seismic 4112 and 4212, Crossroads Elevation and Evergreen Tesla. Jayco has really stepped up their game. My older brother is looking at a Primetime Spartan, but I don't know much about Primetime RV. The Spartan looks decent...and if your gonna spend $75-$85k...I would at least give the RV Factory Weekend Warrior a look. They will build want you want and paint it almost the way you want. A lot of choices now!

Yeah taken I saw in ones of the XLR's when I was shopping but one of the XLR's didn't have any on the kitchen counter which I thought was odd...even messed up...lol
But I still like XLR's...just wasn't my choice.

Taken...it was the 401 AMP that didn't have plugs on the kitchen counters...and the funky W/D connection locations

XLR also paints any way you want to along with any other customization you can ask for from the factory. Jayco has a long way to go to catch up to the market. Mike Aplin will get them there but it won't be overnight and not this year for sure. Tesla is OK, but with an EXTREMELY small dealer network you won't get a decent (35%+) discount off a new one as there just isn't enough competition in the market. Also, there is ZERO reason to spend 75-85k on any toyhauler. I got almost every available option, plus many that weren't on the list, plus custom full body paint for a hair over 70k. Get 35%+ off the nonsense MSRP or walk...

Now I can finally disagree with you taken. Forest River does NOT do ANY custom paint you want...LOL Now they have custom paint packages already designed for you to choose from...but they don't "custom" paint to order. I talked to their reps before we made a purchase and at the time they do anything I asked. I asked for a residential fridge (wasn't offered at the time...now they do in some models)...I asked for the Vesta dishwasher..no....I asked for a kingbed option...no. And your wrong about the discount too...we got right at 40% discount.
LOL are you a Forest River XLR salesman?

You're kidding right? Have you seen my avatar? I'll make it bigger beow... XLR WILL DO any color you want. You have to go with their design of swirls and swooshes but ANY color you want will be done. Mine is Ford Ingot Silver to match my truck with Ford Magnetic Metallic as the secondary. I dropped the third color as I didn't want it that busy. If you go to their Facebook page they also show many other custom paint jobs they've done to match owners rigs. I'm not sure if all FR lines offering full body paint will do this but XLR will. Oh, and they will also do a double clearcoat for an even deeper finish if you want that upgrade. So I'm afraid it is you who is wrong about this. LOL indeed.
Off list options WILL be added IF they fit the floorplan you want. Of course they are not going to redesign a floorplan to add something for you. LOL again. On mine, I got auxiliary rear electric jacks to supplement my level up, a power rear awning over my party deck as opposed to the standard manual unit that was offered at the time I ordered, an LP quick connect for my grill, and a fantastic fan over my loft bed. All off list options. They also do MANY other off list options like slide toppers, double clear on the paint, etc. if you ask.
As to the discount, it's a MINIMUM of 35%. That's what the little "+" meant next to my 35% in the above post. Yes you can get more as both you and I did but that's a safe place to start. If you got 40% off a Tesla you are in a different region that I am. I couldn't get anyone within a thousand miles to go over 25%. 40% likely works out to the same as 35% on other brands though as Telsa is more expensive from the get go so they need a higher discount to make them competitive. And, since said high discount is hard to get on a Tesla, it makes them less competitive in the market.
Lastly, no, not an XLR salesman. I'm just a guy from MA who's been very happy with the XLR buying and owning experience. I'd love to work in the industry and for XLR in particular but IN is just too flat for my taste.... If they offer me a job as traveling salesman, I'll take it though... and that's no LOL...
