I installed the new wheels and tires today....What a difference.

These pics say it all.

Stock WW 225 75 15 D rated:

15" vs 16":

Michelin XPS 235 85 16 E rated:

They fit great with the 2" lift, I think I'll have to mod the spare tire carrier to get the new spare to fit.

Wes

Man, they look great! Wish I could do the same thing, but, can't change that. Gotta stay with the 15" tires. Got to try the E rated tires and hope for the best. You all go out there and find out who makes the best E rated tires for 15". That's my only choice.

Tom,

I think Merit makes the 15" E rated tire that WW was going to put on my coach. I haven't heard how good they are though.

Sean,

The WW center caps fit great. The Eagle 0550-7766's have a machined groove for the flange of the cap to fit in. I had to re-crimp the flange so the cap wouldn't rattle when installed.

They look kind of familiar....

They look great Wes.

You have the 2" lift from Warrior on there?
I changed my order today and got the 2" lift instead of the flipped axles.

Do you think getting the 3rd step would help?
That is the last detail I need to work out.
Thanks and congrats.
You will feel much better towing.

Oh yeah, your 16" spare should fit. Mine fit right up there. A little snug, but it went.

You will need the 3rd step with the lift.

After all that you guys haven't helped me one bit on the 15" tires. Can't change the size so what can I do. E rated is the deal.

Hey....wait a minute...HD: are those still 15's? Didn't you go to the 16's? They sure look like it!

And Tom...Wes's legs are alot longer than yours.... and you need to step up to the 16's...it's a kinda "Ford vs. Chevy" thing...

lincster,

Thanks again, they turned out great.

I had the lift done at Washoe Metal a local welding shop that specializes in trailers. They did a great job.

The 3rd step might be a good option. I didn't measure the step before, but now my first step is about 13" from the ground.

Sean,

The flange on the caps is crimped to make a tight fit. When you have the caps off. take your pliers and bend the flange a little in four or more places around the cap. When you tighten the wheel, the flange is sandwiched between the brake drum and the wheel.

Tom, if you have to stick with 15" wheels, I would run the Titan tire. I have read some good things about that tire. Kind of hard to find, but I think any 15" E rated brand is going to be hard to find.

If you're gonna run the Titan tire, I'd find some way to put two spares under the coach, based on availability. Hummm...on second thought, would it be so bad to be able to run a 15" on an axle along with a 16 just to get to a dealer?

I tried to fit the spare today......no way Jose'.

Those 235 85 16's are 4" bigger then the 225 75 15's.

Gonna definitely have to do a mod to get the spare in there.
