'16 Grand Design 313RLTS offer.....?

So, my DW and I have been casually looking for a TT and things have progressed a bit lately. THe biggest hang up has been storage of the TT as we don't have space at our home. Many of you know the high cost of trailer storage in SoCal. It not, it is very high. Anyways, it looks like we may have a connection to a spot close by that is very cheap and easily accessed.

With this new news we have looked a bit harder at trailers. WE have concluded that the Grand Design 313RLTS has about the best features combined with quality and customer service that we have found (ORV as well but no deals currently found). We came across this gem at one of our local dealers. It is one of their left-over 2016 units that is a new unit.

Question: This unit is currently sitting at about 12% off MSRP. This dealer has a good handful of other 2017 units sitting. 20% off MSRP would be about $36.7K. This unit seems to have all the standard features but no major optional equipment that would command a higher price close to MSRP compared to other units. If you were to go in and make an offer what would it be knowing the facts you have in the link below? I have no problem negotiating and even low balling to see were their starting point is but TT are new to me.

My first inclination is to offer about $32K and see what they do. Thoughts?

First off...

Mike Thompson.......one of the worst most crooked underhanded dealers in CA.
Just do a goggle search on them and business practices

Secondly......
2016 Reflection 313RLTS
List is $45K
Low Retail $32K

It being Mike Thompson----offer 30K OUT THE DOOR

Haha! YEah, I have heard about the service and rep they have. THey just happen to be the closest RV dealer to our home. I had great service and price from the Dennis Dillon Ram dealer where I got my 2500 and they have an RV dealership just 20 minutes from out home but they are not a Grand Design dealer.

With it being a left-over I'd start at 36% off of MSRP and not go over 32% off. It may take them a couple of months but they'll come around. It's a left-over and they apparently don't have people lined up to buy it. Every day it sits on their lot is costing them money... Good luck. I looked long and hard at Grand Design models but they never came out with my floor plan in the Reflection TTs... so we bought something else... Happy trails!

Look at Trailer Hitch in Nipomo. I have no idea about their warranty work/shop etc, but they have really good prices. They may still have a 313, but that model has been replaced with the 315 which is very similar.

Just looked, they have 2 313's and 2 315's. I'd guess somewhere around 38-40K probably less on the 2016 313 models.

If you look at a 337 fifth wheel you'll see the floor plan is very similar to the 313 TT.

I recommend you measure the I beam that the frame is made with and compare it to other trailers the same size.

Lippert makes 100's of different frames... probably the same as one of those.....so yeah the same size steel as on a 20' trailer.

I agree, you should be able to be in the discount range of 30-32% on a left over 2016 unit! 35% if your a really good negotiator the the dealer is anxious to sell.

Thanks for the replies. Still trying to figure out if the storage space is going to work out. Would be nice to get an answer but it is not a situation we can be pushy on.
