Just bought this Terry pull behind camper. The guy I bought it from didn't know much about it. The VIN tag can not be read. Does anyone know what year this is? It's about 18' long. I can't seem to find any information about it online. Thanks for any help!

Definitely appears to be 70's. I had a similar 17' back in the day.

I'm curious -- if you can't read the VIN and apparently don't have a title, what state are you in? How are you going to register it?

In in Georgia. Being this old all I need is the bill of sale. They will issue me a new trailer VIN. No problems.

This is my first camper so wish me luck! Also, there isn't an inverter for the 12v system. Only a fuse panel. Did these older ones not have inverters?

New ones don't come with an inverter either. They do have dual (AC/battery) power systems and a converter/charge controller that runs the 12v lights and appliances such as fans off the AC when shore power is available. The converter will also have a charger that charges the battery when plugged in to shore power.

An inverter lets you actually run AC devices off the battery. You can purchase a small one to allow you to plug in cell phone chargers, iPads and the like, but if you want to run a large inverter capable of powering something like a small microwave you need lots of battery! I have a 1500 watt inverter in my TT but I also have a 4D AGM battery that is a nominal 210 AH. Even so the only thing I run regularly is the HDTV.

My first TT was a '53 Aljo 13 footer. The only "power" it had was propane. Everything ran off that. The lights, small reefer, etc. Didn't even have a battery.

Hey I appreciate all the information. I'm sure I will have other questions if I can't figure it out on my own.

This Terry does have a full bathroom, fridge and 3 burner stove. I will be posting pictures as I go along.

Since you'll likely be replacing all the wiring anyway you should be able to add in whatever equipment you want. Personally, I'd love to have something similar to do a period restoration on, but that's just me

My 1st trailer was similar, 1970 I believe......it had propane lighting, also had 120volt, no converter. You have to remember that these older trailers are quite a bit heavier than the newer ones. Also, with the single axle, they tend to sway a lot more.
