1st Camping Trip...finally!

We are finally going to use our new travel trailer this weekend. We will be boondocking at Sebring Raceway with Chin Motorsports.

Does anyone know where the nearest Dumpstation is that I could use Sunday night on our way out of town?

Do you typically travel with the gas on for the Fridge? It will be a 2hr trip from St. Petersburg.

Thank you for your help!

Joe

Awesome!! Sounds like a fun trip.

Chin Motorsports? Is that Jay Leno's outfit?

Can help with the dump station question, though I know Flying J's have them for $5 if you have the card, $10 if not.

For a 2hr trip, if I was headed somewhere with hookups, I'd load the fridge the night before, have plenty of ice in the freezer, and just keep the doors shut till I get hooked up. If you're boondocking, so you'll probably be running it on LPG the whole time anyway, might as well run it.

Good luck with your 1st trip.

As far a the fridge goes I run mine on lp while on the road. But I turn it off if I have to refuel the truck..

Enjoy the race.

We just let the refrigerator run on the battery. NOTE; ours is a dometic, that runs on gas, battery, or AC. it has an auto setting that will use the gas as last resort. We pulled ours from Springfield, Missouri to Florida, 20 hour trip, and did not use any LP gas that I noticed. Have a fantastic time, Don't get in a hurry, and be safe..

It is recommended that you do not run the LP while on the road. Cool it down, add water jugs frozen, etc. The flame may blow out or if you have an accident it could be bad.

Some states, it is illegal to drive with pressurized propane tanks. I know of Virginia because of the tunnels...

We had a lot of fun and learned many things about our camper. The AC seemed to struggle to keep it in around 77 during the day. At night it nearly froze us. We found a nice dumpstation in town on the way home. Thanks for the advice. We turned off the gas on the trip home.
