Thanks, we keep the TT. In Foley Al, 8-miles from the beach, very nice RV Park, we live in Pelham, Al which is approx 250 miles north (easy drive)
We are intending on keeping her down there for the next year and maybe permanently. I just didn't want to be hamstrung and not be able to move her in case of a Hurricane or other emergency situations.
I drive like a grandpa already and feel no need to be in a hurry when driving or towing. Both the Ford Representatives and Coleman Representatives felt we were on solid ground in regard to the towing.
I was mostly concerned with the GWCR and after doing the math (with everyone involved) I'm convinced the F-150 with the hitch weight, truck, fuel, passengers, cheeseburgers, etc we will be successful in our endeavor.
Also, taking into consideration the Equal-i-zer weight distribution hitch and the Prodigy Trailer break we will be in good shape. If not I'll do something else in regard to towing.
Thanks, we are using this as our "beach bungalow and aren't really going to travel that much.
PS: Great reason to buy a new truck (and she is beautiful btw) CRIMSON TIDE RED !!!

Golly, the neighbors are getting like 22 MPG. But, we do have level roads around here and I have no idea how fast they drive. (the speed limit is 55) I wish my 2004 Chevy with the 5.3 would get better then 13-14 empty on level roads.

I would urge you to get the factory integrated brake controller rather than an add on....Probably a bit more expensive but having used both I can tell you that the integrated is far superior in my opinion.

I have the new 2013 Ford F150 Platinum 4x4 with the 3.5 EcoBoost. I have the Max tow package. It's rated for 11,300 lbs. I have the 3.73 gears.
I agree with Smokeywren on his recommendations.
This is the nicest, fastest most economical truck I've owned in all the trucks I've had and I've had trucks all my life. I just sold my 2010 F150 Lariat 4x4 with the 5.4 V8. Absolutely no comparison.
This truck is like a thoroughbred and wants to work. You feel like you have to hold it back. The twin turbos do a great job.
I haven't towed with it yet, but my cohort who has the same truck tows a 26' TT and he says you don't even know it's there. I believe he told me his TT weighs in at just over 8000 lbs.

Dogpatch - that is really one nice truck. Heated and Cooled seats, comfortable, great rearview camera, great power.
Actually the power is the most amazing.
There is no comparison between Fords old engines and the 2011 engines.
