2016 roof strip cracking

Attached is a seal strip across the backside edge of the roof on my 2016 wildcat. (you can see the ladder rail in the bottom of the frame to give you perspective).

This strip is cracking, but it doesn't seem to leak yet (because the roof membrane goes under it and under the black edge stripping, keeping everything sealed.

This strip doesn't seem to be regular caulking. It's so thin it looks impossible to remove without damaging the membrane, but I'd like to repair it.

Does anyone know what I need and how? This is the only part on my TT that is showing any kind of wear/failing right now. All of the other seals (the typical liquid stuff around the roof penetrations) look solid.

Thoughts?

Have you heard of Eternabond tape? That might be a good place for it.

No, I haven't. That does seem like a great place for it. I like that idea almost better than trying to caulk the crack.

If that picture is looking up at the bottom of that trim piece I would just caulk it and try to use a thin bead. It is not a high water intrusion area anyway and Eternabond is mainly meant for the roof area where looks are less important than function. Just get some white Dicor and touch up any small cracks like that that you see. Remember that the bottom side of windows etc. are not caulked to let water out in case it gets behind them.

You are actually looking down at the top of the roof where the roof membrane goes under the trim piece. The white "bulge" in the center of the frame is the spare tire....about 8' below me. .

So in theory it could be a very high-water intrusion area, if the rip was through the membrane, or can somehow get under the black trim. Right now, it seems the torn piece is just extra reinforcement on the joint of the membrane and the roof trim at the back of the trailer. That's my guess. I'm not 100% sure how these are constructed.

Eternabond tape, or Dicor it doesn’t matter. What does matter is to get that crack filled in. Clean the old caulking with rubbing alcohol before applying whatever you desire. Personally I would use Dicor.
