Hi all!

I'm about as new as newb can get in this travel trailer buisness, and this seems like a great place that has a plethora of information for a person such as myself! While browing and obtaining more info I was just curious if you guys had any pointers/tips regarding older travel trailers like this one.

It's roughly 3400lbs and I would like to get an older lower priced chevy rig to pull it. Would anybody have any recommendations based off of experience? I'm hoping not to spend more than a few grand and I know the best gas mileage isn't expected in a towing rig but that is of concern as well.

The inside is in decent condition, only having to replace 2 walls and painting the rest. We're going to get a stick tile laminate for the floors for an updated look. I do intend on re sealing the outside. Any tips or info on that would be greatly appreciated.

The most important thing you need to to first no matter what truck you decide on, is to put good tires on the trailer and get the bearings and brakes checked out.

With a trailer that size, any full size 1/2 ton pickup in good mechanical condition will pull it safely.

I will need to re seal the whole outside of the trailer as far as seams and windows go. In experience I'm curious what you guys recommend. I've attached a picture of the silicone that I can get a hold of very inexpensively but I want to make sure it'd be okay to use it before I do.

Well upon getting into the project more lone behold we found some water damage.This is the only place we've seen it this bad. This is underneath the bed where the filling tank tank and most other plumbing sits. None of the walls or anything else was no where near as bad as it is here, leading me to believe somethings leaking in the plumbing.
As shown I've removed some of the rot, most of the worst part. I'm curious how much more I should do. Also any recommendations as to trouble shooting where the water came from would be helpful too. I have not ran any water through the plumbing yet since I've found this issue. Figured I'd ask for some advice here 1st. Also curious if it will be worth removing the rest of the plumbing and water heater to fully replace the rotted floor. I don't have much plumbing experience, but it doesn't seem too difficult from what I see.

On a brighter note, after discovering this we decided to pull up the rest of the lenolium to see whats underneath. Looks pretty decent from what we can tell.

Had the same problem with my plumbing. After removing the bed to get at the hot water tank found one water line from tank completely severed. Checking a little deeper found the hot water tank had burst. Until I get a new tank I simply closed the by-pass lever and now pump etc works fine and no leaks. Trailer was NOT winterized by previous owner.
