30 amp to 30 amp generator plug question

I am wanting to plug my tt into my generator which has a 30 amp 4 prong twist connection I have seen some adapters that only have 3 prongs for the twist side.... Does anyone know if these will work since the rv plug only has 3 prongs or are they for a different type of generator

To be honest with you, I dont know if that other one would work but why risk it if you can buy one with the exact connections you have on both ends?

Make sure that the 4 prong generator plug is 120 VAC only and not labeled 120/240 VAC. If it labeled 120/240 VAC, you may not want to use it until you can confirm that the RV will connect only to the 120 VAC.

The plug MUST match the socket.. Now the plug can be either 3 or 4 prong, but it hs to match the socket.

The 3 prong RV adapters do not match the 4 slot socket.. however they make one that does,, It only uses 3 of the 4 prongs. set the genertor to 120 volts. (Assuming you hve that option) But you have to use a matching plug.

the 3 prongs should be

Hot/Neutral/Ground
The 4 prongs are
HOT L-1
Hot L-2
Neutral
Ground

Not in that order.

Just be very careful when 'adapting' from a 4-prong to 3-prong. As stated earlier, the 4-prong 50 amp RV plug is a 120VAC plug....unlike what you might commonly see in a 4-prong outlet which is actually 240VAC. Big mistake! That's why they make the 120V 3 or 4-prong connectors with a different configuration for RVs.
