60X74 short queen topper

I have been looking for weeks for a topper for my RV mattress. I usually camp less than 20 nights a season, where can I buy a memory foam topper without breaking the bank? OF course this is for my TT and I cannot justify with the DW paying more for my RV bed than my home bed lol... I see some deals but never on 60X74 dimensions. Can you cut these things to size or is that asking for trouble? Those that have these toppers can I find one for no more than about $200.00? I find some for 400.00-600.00 but honestly that is way outside of my range. What prices have you found & where?

The 4" memory foam toppers that Walmart sells, around $100, can be easily cut to size with an electric kitchen knife.

Try www.ABlifestyles.com. I just ordered a queen short mattress pad for $54 with free shipping and no sales tax. They have all kinds of RV bedding in various sizes, including foam mattress toppers. Prices are very reasonable.

Here is a thread I posted a few weeks back on the mattress toppers I bought for my new hybrid. I have a link on the thread with pictures...mattress toppers

Bought two Queen sized 2" toppers at Amazon...about $130 - $140 delivered....I think each one was $69...

{I have a hybrid so I have two queen bunks.}

Then cut to size, lay it on top of the mattress, and cover it and the mattress with an ordinary mattress cover. Some folks like that relatively soft squishy ordinary foam topper.

2] Memory foam is a lot more expensive, but you can still buy just the foam, cut it to size, and use an ordinary mattress cover (or really-good fitted bottom sheet) to cover it and the mattress. Some folks hate ordinary high-density 2" foam, but love the memory foam in the same thickness. (That's one reason why a Tempur-Pedic mattress costs a lot more than an ordinary foam mattress.)

3] The link above is no good. It should be ".net" instead of ".com". Here's the link to the memory foam pad:
(ABLifestyles.net) / Visco Memory Foam Mattress Topper RV & Camper Mattress sizes
Order that plus the short queen mattress cover on the same page and you'll barely be within your $200 budget.

4] The perfect size mattress cover might be a problem. Most "RV Queen size" mattress covers are 1" or 2" too long for a 60x74 mattress. But if you can use a sewing machine it's relatively easy to modify the mattress cover to fit perfectly. Same with bottom fitted sheets.

Thanks for your suggestion about foam. The ABLifestyle folks offer all kinds of queen short bedding and their measurements are exact size as mine, so I ordered a mattress pad. Their foam toppers were pricey so I will check out the fabric stores. My main concern is getting the two mattresses from slipping apart. Seems like a very poor design. We opted for the queen bed slide out for the purpose of better sleep and having room on either side of bed. Did not realize the mattresses were not sewn together. Otherwise love our little Jamboree....especially at the gas pump...16 mpg...YAY!

Thanks for the suggestions. None of these sites came up through my google search. I guess the internet is also now controlled lol....

Anyway I am well on my way to a better nights sleep. I love the web sites I looked at. I will probably get some sheets too!
I went and measured today and I am actually 60 X 74.5 whereas the spec sheet from the manufacturer said 60* 74. That .5 may make a difference I can sure appreciate the mattress cover fitting and the edge of the bed and topper actually being the same....I imagine if there are not, that would be bad and irritating. From the posts above I realize they need to fit nice together to form one and that needs to be considered. Thanks again for educating me on where to look.

I stopped using google and began using bing.com a couple of years ago. I prefer the results I get with Bing. Bing is Microsoft, so the best brains in the world developed it. Plus it's easier to type bing than google.

However, in a Bing search for "short queen mattress topper", ABLifestyles did not show up on the first three pages. It did show up on page 4, with the following words:

For Home... And Wherever You Roam (ABLifestyles.net) / Mattress ...
http://www.ablifestyles.net/servlet/...C-Mattress-pad...
$54.00 Short Queen 60X75 $39.00 Bunk 28X75 $39.00 Bunk 30X75 ... Great Quality, USA made Mattress Pads made specifically to fit RV & Camper Mattresses!

When you click on that link, you will see only the cheap foam toppers. You have to do another search within the ABLifestyles website to find their memory foam topper.

I also did a Bing search on "short queen memory foam mattress topper", but gave up after 20 pages of results without finding ABLifestyles. So the words you use in your search makes a big difference in what you'll find.

If almost $200 for a memory foam topper with mattress cover is too cheap for your fancy RV, then here's a real Tempur-Pedic on sale for only $399 instead of the MSRP of $666.
http://www.tempurpedic.com/Closeout-...s-Overlays.asp
It's already covered with a good cover, so if you don't want to chop off 6" or throw away the Tempur-Pedic topper cover, just fold over the excess at the foot of the bed and secure it with your mattress cover.

Thanks, Smokey, but I had absolutely no problem finding AB Lifestyles website. I called them with my questions, and they were very customer friendly. I use both Bing and Google but prefer Google. Bing doesn't seem to have as good a search engine, in my opinion, however, that's why we have so many Internet options available as we all have different preferences. I ordered the mattress pad from AB and will check out the foam at a local fabric store or bedding retailer. We purchased a memory foam but did not like the marshmallow feel and returned it. We prefer a higher density firm bed. This is a great site for networking and I appreciate the feedback.

Buy a standard topper, take an electric knife and cut off the extra length. If it has a cloth case or cover, take it off and seam it to the correct length. Low cost...problem solved.

That's exactly what I plan to do. Ordered a queen cover to hold everything in place after mattresses are secured and foam topper eliminates uncomfortable seam. That is the biggest flaw in Fleetwood's Jamboree line. Bet they get complaints.

FYI -- Rec'd queen short mattress pad from AB Lifestyles and could not be happier. It is such high quality and fits perfectly. Delivery was timely and shipping was free. I highly recommend AB Lifestyle for specialty bedding unique to RV sized mattresses.
