A/C Question ??

Go tour new Grey Wolf 26RL back from having to have the A/C looked at, looks like they solved the problem. We had never used the air since we purchased the unit in Nov. Here's my question, 15,000 BTU unit, high temp 91, unit parked in full sun (Southern Ga.), slide out. Turned the unit on in the am.set the thermostat at 69,came on when needed, checked it midday 91 deg outside, 72 inside, should i expect bettter ??? We were sure to get the larger 15,000 unit, living in the south.

Unit is a rear living witha large slide/living area, door, bathroom, door, bedroom. i left all the doors open (correct/incorrect ??)

Thanks Jim

Hi Jim,
I would set the a/c at 72 and close the doors to the areas that are not in use. Remember you don't want to freeze up the a/c by setting it to low. Hope this helps / Happy Camping!

That sounds about right. Typically, 20 degrees less than outside temp is the best you can do. Park in the shade and cover the windows. RVs just don't have enough wall thickness to allow good insulation.
