Excellent work.

Just baffles me why the builder(KZ?) would not have put a window in initially.

Makes no sense.

Adding a FRONT Window

Our TT has a sloped nose at the head of the bed. I'd like to add a window there. Where does one find the windows? And wouldn't a front window need a cover as well?
Any information is appreciated!

I found the window that I added on eBay.
I would think that adding a window to the front of the trailer would be more difficult.
1. You don't know what, if any structure would be in your way.
2. There are aerodynamic loads on the front of the trailer that are not on the sides. This is due to wind forces while driving. This needs to be considered.
3. I would guess that a window on a slope like on the front of the trailer would tend to be more prone to leaks.
4. And yes, you would want some sort of cover to prevent rocks or debris from hitting the glass.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but there is more to consider.

Very nicely done! May I asked what cutting tool did you end up using?

I used a large hole saw for the radiused corners and my sawmax for the straight cuts. Cut the corners all the way through and then made the straight cut from the outside and the from the inside. Had masking tape inside and out to prevent splintering.
Worked great.

I then filled/sealed the exposed edges with a two part epoxy filler to strengthen hole perimeter and hopefully prevent any moisture form getting in there. Used window putty to seal the window frame to the side of the trailer before installing the window clamp. When I tightened the clamp the putty compressed nicely.

Good choice using a smaller window, accomplished your goals (light/ventilation). Minimal chance of structural concerns.
