Advice needed - Jayco Eagle vs. Dutchmen Classic

We just sold our TT to upgrade to something slightly larger. (Our family has grown in the 6 yrs since we purchased the 1st one.) After some looking, we have found a couple we are interested in. Here are the details...

Used '07 Jayco Eagle 314BHDS TT

good condition inside & out (the only thing we noticed was the jayco sticker on the front has peeled & a couple spots inside on the carpet & in the refrig. - nothing major)

OR

New '08 Dutchmen RV Classic 30S-DSL TT (about $4000 more than the Jayco)

This price includes towing equipment (hitch, sway bars, etc.)

Any advice or input/insight in to these campers would be greatly appreciated. We want to make the right choice. We want to get the most for our money as well as get a camper we can keep for many years.

thanks!!!

First, welcome to iRV2. We're glad to have you join us.

I'd suggest a search on "Jayco" and "Dutchmen" using the Search feature on the toolbar above.

My vote would be for the Jayco - we've owned three (a Cardinal pop-up and two Designer 5th wheels.) When we were shopping for our first 5th wheel back in 1996, we looked at a Dutchmen on a dealer's lot on a rainy day - there was water leaking through the roof, and water leaks were a common complaint among other Dutchmen owners at that time. Maybe the newer ones are better, but I wouldn't bet my money on it.
