Alarm driving me nuts!

Combination Carbon Monoxide and Gas Alarm keeps going off in trailer. It will be fine for a couple days then goes off. On and off for few times. Mostly at night. Then I play with it a little and goes off. then its ok . Driving me NUTS. Any thoughts on it ? Air on all day when its hot its ok. Night time goes off.

We can't cook a meal without the smoke alarm going off in our trailer. Now, we just unhook it and place it outside before cooking. Yup, in your case, you need to buy a new one - of a different brand.

How old is it? They have a finite lifespan of approximately five years, the date should be located on the back of the unit. Bottom line, it needs to be replaced.

How old is the alarm? And if it has batteries in it how old are they.. If it is powered off the house batteries what shape are they in.

Low batteries will cause a "System failure" alarm (Different from a GAS PRESENT alarm)

And old age on CO detectors at least also cause a system failure alarm.

Low voltage will make them act up. But the safest thing to do, once voltage is checked is to replace the thing. It could be a life saver.

So during the day with air circulating it is okay. But at night when things are quiet it goes off. Have you considered it might be telling you something is wrong?

Buy another and leave both hooked up before you throw it away.

Mine will do erratic beeping if the house battery gets low and I am not plugged into shore power. I think it is supposed to. Recharge the battery and all is well. Check your battery charge.

Check the water in your house battery to ensure it is holding a good charge.

If the batt is over 3-4 yrs old replace it.

Install and use a batt disconnect

Replace detector if the battery is known good.
