I generally switch it on ONLY when I am using it. Why take a chance?

So true MBIRCH . After a catastrophic flood in my home 6 years ago I'm always on edge when it comes to water. I know some of you may think I go overboard... but I would rather go overboard than have a disaster in the RV.

I'm taking NO chances.

Ouch ... I feel your pain !! We had a nasty septic backup last year. $10K in damages and almost 3 months to complete the repairs. The worst part being, we rent out half of the basement to tenants.

That was 1 year after having a "catastrophic" flood (i.e. $1 million + to repair) at work. Water can do an enormous amount of damage.
