Am I being foolish?
Ok. Thursday we pick up our brand new Pacific Coachworks / Camping World 21 FBS. We are scheduled to do a walk through then sign papers.
I have read all the reviews on CW. And Pacific Coachworks doesn't even recognize this model... because its made exclusively for CW. I think because they have a bunch of NORTHLAND branded stuff laying around, they decided to use it. I know the TT isn't top of the line, but we really dig the layout, HUGE shower, and all the extras that come with it for the PRICE. Seems like a solid built decent TT. Not flimsy and cheesy like some we have been in.
That being said. Am I being foolish to use CW because of all the bad reviews? And the fact that I think its a good value?
Or don't worry bout it, pull the trigger and make it great regardless?
Any opinions welcome!

I don't think you are being foolish as long as you know the type of trailer you are getting into. Just about every newer TT ive been in has some sort of flimsy area. in the ultra cheap trailers everything will be flimsy, and for some that's ok to do a few weekends a year at the beach and a week long trip for a few years.
I do however feel bad for folks who can't fix or trouble shoot anything and buy a real cheap trailer.

We had CW install a larger inverter in our 2000 Dutch Star as I thought they would know what they were doing. It worked but I could run both heat pumps off the batteries for a short time, plus the refer had to be manually turned to gas.
Have never taken anything to them since that. I do buy stuff from them, but only if I can't find it elsewhere.

Have you looked at other trailers at other dealers? If you look and check out the trailer and you really like it, and the price is right, then your only problem may be the quality of warranty repair service that you get at that particular CW dealer. A different dealer may be better or worse, so all you can do is do a little research. Try doing a internet search for that CW and see what pops up. If you do purchase the trailer, don't complete the deal and hand over any $$ until anything that needs fixing or adjusting has been taken care of. Make sure that you check everything!
If you want to compare the trailer to something comparable, one trailer would be the Winnebago Minnie 2101DS. There are a couple of Minnie trailer threads in the owners forum that you may want to read and most Winnebago Minnie owners that have participated have been very happy with their units.

Camping world is like the Wal Mart of the shopping world. If you know what you want and know how much you want to pay for it and they have that than jump on it, all being said, it's your money.
I am sure there are thousands of folks who buy stuff from them and never think twice.....and have good experience to go along with the purchase, these folks usually do not seen time on long write up about anything because they are out enjoying their stuff
Good luck

Camping world has a terrible reputation and I know why after dealing with them. I would only warn that you will have to rely on them to fix the RV if something breaks since it is branded to them. As long as you are comfortable in how they treat you that is the important thing. As a past customer of Indianapolis camping world I won't even buy anything from their store now. Tread lightly and make sure you feel good about before you buy.
By the time you are done with the walk through you will have a good idea, ask questions and if anything isn't right ask them to correct it BEFORE you sign the papers.

I would do a little more digging around into this TT. Are parts for it available the Pacific Coachworks? I ask this as I would hate to have to be dependent on CW for everything you may need in the future. I also don't like CW service, too many techs that don't know what they're doing. If parts are available then you will be okay to go ahead with it, if this is what you'll be happy with. You can always get it serviced elsewhere.
Best of luck and Happy Trails!!!

To give you an idea of the kind of people you are dealing with, my experience was so bad they offered me a $500 gift card for their store and after I agreed they never sent it.

Here is the actual heartland site for the 21FBS NT 21 FBS looking at local dealers they appear to be going for right around $20k

We looked at the NT 21 FBS when we were looking and while I liked some aspects like the slam latches and slightly thicker walls, I was really troubled by the flimsy sinks. I think if I went the NT route, it would have to be a Caliber Edition which gives you a higher grade of finish like stainless steel sinks.

I looked at the manufacturers web site for this particular TT model someone posted.
I looked up dealers in my area where I could look at this model.
The local CW didn't show up? Confusing if it is exclusively built for them.
If you want this RV, before signing anything, you may want to check with the manufacturer and ask their policy in regards to warranty work if needed. Specifically if you have to return to the place of purchase of other dealers are, in your area. If they say yes, then check with those other dealers. And then again, your CW might be great.
Just sayin'....
Good luck.
