I see your view point and experience completely. I started figuring roughly what it would cost to go "whole hog" on solar. If I would go with lithium batteries I think I could easily be north of 6K Ouch!!! That would buy a lot of gas for a couple quality gens.

Amazon Solar Kit for RV

I would keep it simple and expandable with a good monocrystalline kit. I only have 1 100w panel with only the expectations of keeping 3 batteries up while sitting and it does a good job at that. On a hot sunny day I can turn my Fantastic Fan on med and let it run all day to pull the heat out of the coach, or run the residential frig for about 10hrs and it will keep up. My kit is not a Renogy.
