The Rules for power use:

Big ticket items include Air Conditioners, Space heaters, Microwave, Water heaters and in some cases your converter (If the batteries are real hungry)

Small ticket items are TV's. Radios, Lights, and the converter if the batteries are NOT hungry,

Fridge is in between 350-450 watts.

The rules:

15 amp: One big ticket, not an air conditioner
20 amp: one big ticket
30 amp: Two
50 All you can eat

Amp draw on the A/C will be on the A/C. likely around 13-14 amps when running, way more starting,

Water heater is aroudn 11 amps, as is microwave

Fridge 3-4

Does this help?

Rather then ask what's going on with your amps, buy a clamp on meter and know what's going on. A clamp on AC amp meter should run no more then about 30$
