HDTV antenna help. Have a KZ200s reception is poor to bad can not get more than 4 channels. Any recommendations would be a great help.

Is this something that happens all the time? If so you have an antenna problem. If you have any trees in the way you won't get reception or very limited. I know when I had my Jack antenna if there were trees forget about it.

I googled for the antenna and failed to find one... However, (And this is a guess) you have been snookered by a HDTV bunco artist.... That is, as I said, a guess however.

I have seen 20 dollar UHF bowtie antennas sold for 100 bucks as HDTV antennas.. And I saw evidence people were buying them.

What am I watching just now... HDTV, How did I get it, Antenna, What kind, Winegard Sensar with Wintman and Sensar Pro indoor module.

Yup, same antenna that worked for Analog NTSC works for Digital ATSC.. And yes, I understand why.

So vague but I'll try to help.
You are somewhere with bad reception. Bad connections in the coax. Antenna booster is not on. Antenna booster is not sending 12V to the amplifying head. The antenna head is bad. You're not scanning for available channels on the TV correctly. The antenna is not cranked up. The antenna is not pointed the right way.
That's just a few things.

Google is no help on the KZ200s model for an antenna. Give us a clue as to who make it. Is it an omnidirectional antenna?

Yes the antenna is omnidirectional and came with the unit. Where would this power boost be located?

Look where the coax plugs, etc. are where your TV mounts and plugs in. A small button, mine is black. That's where mine is anyway on my Apex. On mine when you push the button in a green light comes on. Dealer warned me to turn it off when camper is on battery because it can drain it quickly.

From my experience, the omnidirectional antennas are pretty poor excuses for an antenna. I would replace it with a Wineguard Sensar IV antenna or a Jack antenna. The omnidirectional antennas will generally work best close to the stations and are pretty much useless in fringe areas.

My bet is on either booster is off and/or digital channel search has not been made or done correctly. I did that too....once learned I was amazed at the clear digital channels available in some areas. bill

Ah, a "Roadstar" type. Is this antenna a "Flying Saucer"?

They are junk Replace with a Batwing (Winegard Sensar IV) with wingman and Sensar Pro.. I think the IV comes with WIngman, not sure of Sensar Pro.

Those sites will give you a rough idea of what's out there.

For what it's worth I connected a two foot wire to my antenna input on a HDTV as an experiment and picked up over a dozen TV stations....no fancy dancy antenna, just a wire.

Plain old rabbit ears worked fine too.

There should be a green light that is on/off, and the switch depressed is on, pushed out is off.

are you raising the antenna, have you done a station check as this needs to be done any time you move to a new area, and as already asked is the amplifier on.
