Any reason I can't run 3 load range C tires & 1 load range D?

Had my first blowout, and my buddy has a brand new tire laying around (sold his trailer last week and the buyer didn't want the tire). I have all load C tires, 205 75 R15. His specs are the same, but its a load range D. Any reason I cant use it?

Thanks,
Dave

No, as long as the O.D. is the same.

No, it'll be fine. Even if the diameter is slightly different there's no problem as its not mounted on a drive axle.

If that brand new tire has been laying around, might want to check the DOT date code or you might be in the same boat next trip. Hard to imagine a buyer wouldn’t want a brand new tire for a spare.

Let me add to this suggestion. Also check the dates on the other Load Range C tires for their age. Then going beyond that ask why the original tire failed. Was it to old? Overloaded or underinflated? What is the condition of the remaining Load Range C tires?

I would consider replacing all of the Load Range C tires with new Load Range D tires for increased safety. There's not much difference in cost and the D tires can handle more weight.

The tire is fresh, the buyer just had a policy that he only ran american tires. Mine blew right after I hit some metal object in the road.

All that being said, any reason in principle that I cant run the D tire?

As we already said, no reason at all. Use it.
