Are Keystone and Winnebago the same?

During my shopping I noticed that the Keystone and Winnebago are pretty much cookie cut from each other. Are they from the same factory? Are both companies the same with a different name? Just curious.

No, separate corporations. Winnebago is in Forest City, Iowa and Keystone is in Oregon and Indiana. Keystone started in 1996 and Winnebago in the mid '50's, becoming Winnebago in 1960.

The sameness of their products probably the result of the methods, materials, and RV equipment they both use in their RVs.

If your looking at 5er's or travel trailers according to the 2015 Travel Trailer & Fifth Wheel Guide by Randell Eaton (which costs $60) for 2014-2015 year models Keystone ranks 4th overall and Winnebago ranks 15th in the mid class priced units. I liked them both however they did not offer the floorplan the DW wanted.

Winnebago bought Sunnybrook in 2010 and their TTs are built in the same factory. I think Sunnybrook is being phased out.

Hmm, not sure I believe that. Wasn't expecting Winnebago to be #1 but 15th??
Also, I looked at plenty of Keystones and I don't see how they would come in 4th.
...unless this was a sales volume stat.

Winnebago hasn't built TT or 5ers for almost 40 years prior to buying Sunnybrook in 2010.
...So there is no relation to Keystone.

All you have to do is look at a lot of floor plans from different companies and you see that there are so many that are identical or very close. The industry seems to follow each other i.e. if the trend is to darker cabinetry, then everyone has darker cabinetry. Then, when the momentum changes to lighter interiors, everyone does. Since Winnebago has done that with the 2016 line, lets see what happens with other manufacturers in the coming year.
