Atwood-Dometic Water heater igniter board
GD Reflection 5th wheel, Atwood-Dometic 6gal water-heater 120vac/propane, 2018 model but used full time for 1.5 years.
model number GC6AA-10E
The short version is this... I have only 9.2v from the igniter board to the various wire connections that lead to the solenoid, and the solenoid does not "click" open... though some propane gets through when it efforts to ignite.
The sparker doesn't spark, but a flick-a-bic will ignite what little propane gets past the solenoid during the ignition effort. But the propane will shut off after the failed ignition sequence.
The Atwood trouble shooting guide says it needs a minimum of 10.5v to work properly. I measured the voltage from the wire harness going into the igniter board. It was either 12.4 or 13.4, I don't remember which, but it seems to me it was the full battery voltage.
It would seem to me that the igniter board is failing to pass along 10.5-12+v to the thermal fuse, thermostats, and solenoid... but I would have thought it would just outright fail rather than deliver a substandard 9.2v.
Before I spend $120 on a new igniter board, I thought I would ask for your thoughts and ideas.
Thanks in advance
Mike C

Atwood had faulty circuit boards from a vendor --2016 thru 2018
ALL factory, dealer, aftermarket boards were junk.
They found the issue and changed vendors.........they have replaced the faulty boards for FREE.
Look at your circuit board for the vendor/bar code sticker
Zhongding on sticker.....junk
Contact Atwood about replacement
IF 12VDC or 13VDC is going to CIRCUIT board....that same DC Voltage should go thru each circuit
Your circuit board is defective. (does more then just provide spark for ignition)

If this is not a warranty repair I would strongly consider a Dinosaur Electronics UIB64 as a replacement.

I had a Zhongding on my Atwood Water Heater that failed and replaced it with the Gino Board and never looked back.

I had a problem with my previous unit, a 2017 Prime Time Tracer, where the furnace wouldn't light at all and just went through the sequence and timed out and shut down. After looking through the system, I discovered that the installation of the Furnace was faulty, allowing water to penetrate into the area where the circuit board was placed. They didn't seal the top of the exterior well and the circuit board actually was sitting in water when I found it. I removed, dried the area out and sealed it properly, and most importantly bought a new Dinosaur board, cost $120 or so, but reinstalled the new board and never had a problem again. The furnace was an Atwood product.

Only thing common about this is both are an Atwood product.....but other then that have nothing to do with each other.
Different installations, different circuit boards, different appliances etc

Wow, this is great information... I had issues with my 2018 Coleman with the Atwood 6 Gal propane water heater, would not ignite etc... contacted Dutchmen and they put me in touch with my nearest warranty facility, they gave me the Atwood control board to replace the Zhonding one that was in there, fired instantly...
Thing that upset me most was the dealership did their PDI just a month previous and said everything was good, Water heater never worked for us, until I replaced that board.

I have read in other forums about the dinosaur boards... what makes them better than the Atwood, etc... I am still under warranty but in the future, if I have to replace it, I have considered the board shown.

Dinosaur Electronic Circuit Boards are better quality......
BUT they are an exposed circuit board so when replacing one on the Atwood Water Heater you HAVE to purchase the additional protective cover & may have to get the adapter to plug in OEM harness.
So you can NOT just look at board costs but the WHOLE combined costs
