Awning - best way to clean?
I started to dewinterize the TT and noticed the awning is a bit moldy and dirty. What is the best way to clean safely? The top is dark and bottom in white. I searched the mobile version but search didn't seem to find anything. Feels good to have her ready to travel again.

I use vinyl siding wash. Attach the bottle to your hose, spray it on and brush it with a long handled wash brush, rinse and let dry. I was amazed at how much crud it removed the first time I used it. And it hasn't hurt the awning at all.

I just use Dawn dish soap and one of those car wash soft bristle brushes.
I don't extend the awning all the way so I can get to it a bit better and the soap rinses off better. Takes a while and is pretty messy under there.
On nice days I'll open the awning just to let it air out to prevent mold, etc.

In just had my whole rig including awnings by a company that used a power washer. That worked great.

I just did the bleach trick---About 1 cup bleach in a 1gal sprayer full of water. Sprayed the underside, rolled it up for 15 min, unroll and used my soft rv brush to brush the mold off, rinse. hardly any work at all.

Did the bleach get on your clothes and, if so, did it goof them up?

Bleach will eat away at the threads used to stitch the awning together. I'd stay away from anything that contains bleach. I have read that 5% hydrogen peroxide sprayed on the awning works great if you roll it back up and let it sit for half an hour then unroll and hose off.

I did use a pair of work clothes. I looked but did not find any bleach spots on them. I was really paranoid about the bleach solution in my eyes, etc but the mist was heavy enough not to drift and light enough not to drip.
Funny the thread wear comment. Mine has been needing restiching for about the last year. Finally when I was cleaning it I decided to send carefree of colorado a note about how to restitch the forward and rearward edges (about 2 inches down the awning).
The rig is 5yrs old and never seen bleach until now.

I used a bleach product and ruined a nice sweatshirt. So yes, do not get a bleach product on your clothing.

@mikebreeze - magic erasers are awesome...but cleaning this size awning with one seems like cutting grass with a nail clipper. I'm guessing about 400 Sq feet top and bottom. Now if they make those little wonders in floor broom size... a new market might open up.
