Backup Cameras

Hello All - Trailering newbies here. We just bought a 2020 Outdoors RV RKS24 and took our maiden voyage last weekend. We LOVE it!!!! After 12 years of going to RV shows and dreaming, we finally decided to pull the trigger.

We do have a question though. Does anyone have experience with adding a backup camera to the trailer and truck? What are the best brands? Can you add 2 (one for the truck and one for the trailer)? And what else should we know?

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

The best value out there is the Haloview MC7108 camera with 7" monitor. $249.99 shipped on Amazon prime or directly from Haloview with a 10% off coupon code that's available on their website. I ordered mine direct from Haloview and the shipping from China was one week. It's on the back of my 42' fifth wheel and the reception and picture are very good. It has a built in microphone, recording capability and the ability to add up to 3 more cameras.

I had a Pioneer radio/dvd/cd..... installed in my 2017 Ram 2500, it came with a camera that works well. I was told they could also install a camera on my trailer and wire it through the trailer wire harness. It also allows me to plug in my phone for navigation, audiobooks and music.

I did just that to our PU and 24KTS. Not able to get the info from Amazon right now, but it was a package deal with 2 cameras and monitor. I made a mount that went under the center clearance light and used a tailgate latch camera from another source for the truck (better angle for hook up). It works beautifully for both backing up the truck (to hook up the trailer) and while driving down the road, however, it's functunality is limited after dark. Not a problem for us as we are generally off the road before the sun sets.
