Bad Etiquette?
Is it considered bad etiquette to drain the remaining FRESH WATER from your tank while driving? I have just a 1/2 inch drain tube to empty the tank. Just let her drain while traveling? Seen people do it all the time, but never knew if it was bad form to do so.

I don't think that is the right thing to do, even though others do it and it may not be illegal. What about all the other drivers, behind you or along side of you and your water is getting all over their cars. Maybe they just washed their car and don't appreciate it getting dirty or water spotted just for the convenience for a MH/RV to dump their tank while driving. Just empty it into your holding tanks prior to dumping your tanks at the CG, or empty it at home so others aren't affected.

The only thing legal to put on Cal highways is clean water and feathers from live birds. I pull out of the CG and find a good place along the highway, stop, and drain fresh water if I need to. I would not want to get a shower of unknown liquid and don't give them.

Not just bad etiquette it's also been illegal for years around here. In fact in OR it was illegal to drain your grey water onto the ground since about 1970. Since they couldn't tell what was draining from your rig as you drove they made it illegal to let anything drain.

I wouldn't even consider doing that. So now you know.
Carrying water is not that big of a deal. I carry 30 gallons in the tank when we
are traveling just in case we get stuck with no campground to go to.

I want a button installed in my truck that will open the black tank while I drive... and shoot it at [Moderator Edit] who keep beeping at me to get out of their way for doing the speed limit. Lol. ��

I once drained fresh water in my own driveway . Neighbor called The cops , said I was draining toilet water .
She was standing in her driveway when she made the call , I kinda wondered if that's what she was doing , sure enough , 2 cop cars show up.
