Battery case problem

I have a 2013 Aerolite TT that has 1 battery inside a plastic case. When I went to remove it for the winter I noticed the case was about 3/4 full of water around the battery. (probably from recent rains) The top plastic cover has 2 sets of very small vents on top but the main case has no holes for drainage so I wondered what others have. It seems to me it should have some sort of drain holes but before I drill something I would like to know if others have some type of drain holes in the main case.

I don't know of a box that has holes in the bottom. Maybe they don't put holes in them to contain the sauce from a leaking battery...?
I drilled 4, 1/2" holes in all of the boxes I've used.

I've seen this recently just cause it's been raining. Issue is once the box fills up, the water will make continuity between the batter terminals and you might have problems.
So just drill a hole or two in the bottom.

Probably since they are used in boats to keep water away from the battery. That's a good idea to drill a drain hole for use in a TT.

Suppose the battery leaks and you have holes in the bottom of the box? Where does the acid go as it leaks out?

I drilled holes in mine when I had travel trailers.

Mr. D mine would drain on the ground. If it is in a compartment, I would not drill the bottom out.

I agree with others on this....drill a hole or two if not in a compartment, just up front, and monitor it from time to time. I don't have any holes drilled in my boat's battery boxes for the reason of any potential leakage going where it's not wanted!
