Beach front camping?

Looking for beach front camping or a campground close to a beach in either NY, MASS, CT, RI any suggestions? The wife wants to go some where near a beach for her birthday and stay within 2hrs of CT. Thanks!!!!!

Hammonasset Beach State Park near Clinton Conn has a campground on the beach.

If you prefer a Good Sam private campground with better facilities, the Riverdale Farm RV campground is about two miles from that park, just north of I-95 in Clinton.

Further east, there are several state parks on the beach near New London. I haven't determined if any of them have campgrounds. But there is the Good Sam "resort" campground in East Lyme = Aces High RV Park. Only a few miles to any of the state parks on the beach.

Or how about this one, with its own private beach?

Unfortunately, any of the MA, RI, or CT State Park campgrounds are almost always fully booked by this time. Earliest weekend date we could find was in mid-September. There are few scattered weekdays here and there.
I believe Island Campground is all seasonal - could be wrong.
Aces High is a very nice choice, another that is within 15 minutes from the ocean beaches is Mystic KOA in North Stonington, CT.
Good luck. Travel safe.
